Hi, based on my impresion with the Payday 2 alpha reviews I came to conclusion the game will be so different to Payday 1, that the information sets for P1 and P2 will be too independent to be kept together. There will be different weapons, different game mechanics, different heist scenarios, staged heists, money utilization, classes and development treess
The P1 wiki is very compact and consistent in information so I think you will have to create the mirrored structure for P2.
That seems sort of odd though. Seeing as how it's still a Payday game, wouldn't it be easier to just keep all the information on the same place? Other wikis have multiple games that may be considered different than predecessors, but I don't think that means you have to create an entirely new wiki.
In the extreme case where everything is totally different, it may be better to have two separate wikis instead of one wiki with a bunch of articles whose titles contain the suffix "(PAYDAY 1)" or "(PAYDAY 2)". As more information comes in, we can more accurately estimate how many cross-references there would be.
i'd vote for using the same wiki. refer to fable wiki, rollercoaster tycoon wiki and final fantasy wiki here on wikia. the characters and story stuff connects both games as well as the same game-universe Of course in one wiki it is easier to connect things.
C'mon, that's ridiculous! (like my english but, whatever). Borderlands have only 2 games and a single wikia, Fallout have 4 games and 1 wikia, Prince of Persia have many many sequels, some of them beeing reboots, and they all share the same wikia. Why should it be different with this game anyway? But if there needs to be an election, I say we create a pool here.
Wikia is not a democracy. For what it's worth, there is a wiki for Borderlands 2 alone, though I'm not a fan of that particular separation because that series is closely connected beyond having the same characters and universe.
It seems like all you'd need to do is simply categorize the Payday 2 articles to be related to that game's subjects, like just a navigation box we see for current Payday articles (Wikis for games like Serious Sam do this for example).
For weapons which are both in Payday, and Payday 2, something could be done like in the Battlefield wiki for instance, where the article is separated into portions, detailing how it performs in the respective games. In addition, you'd include two collapsible navigation boxes that correspond to each game, just like other wikis do.
I think we can use the same Wiki. It would be a pain for visitors to have to switch back and forth between the two, and it's only two games. It can get a little hectic when the series has a dozen entries (take a look at the chaotic hell of the Resident Evil Wiki) but with only two games I think we can handle it.
