  • It seems LGL is copying Overkill's approach to item hunting with their Dog Tags. As far as I know there are about 30 of them in each map and draw from a pool of possible locations like the Courier Packages, though I don't know what collecting all 30 in a map will unlock other than an achievement.

I'd look for them myself too in the final game, though if it's not too much I'd like to ask you for a hand in this.

    Cheers.

    • Considering their size, amount and locations I think it's a fair bit harder than Packages, and you can see how well people help there (ie. not at all, it's a solo-work, and thus it progresses like crap).

So I would say don't bother. And they increase loot after the mission, mostly XP I find.

    • So. Freaking. Glad. Sometimes I think Overkill Software has to rely on the playerbase to find bugs in their game. I'm impressed this issue with the Platypus 70 existed for such a long time, but was considered such a small issue (and apparently nobody noticed when they fiddled with the model70 weapon data).

Also, I've never understood why you're "suspended" in the PAYDAY 2 Steam Forums.

    • Cause I'm a hardcore pirate of course. Taking away from their hard cold cash they earn selling the Antisphere Materials and Patterns... oh... wait...

    • Also worth mentioning is how slow Overkill is when it comes to fixing bugs, especially ones that are pretty simple. First is the Platypus 70 sniper rifle to which it was pretty recent, and the Arbiter grenade launcher. Incendiary grenades couldn't be used with it for MONTHS since release and I believe mods to fix a simple script error was addressed much sooner.

      That's pretty self-depreciative of you.

    • And they still don't remember to add the new throwables to Ninja side-jobs exclusion list (Stoic still not there either).

Keep up the good work OVK.

Sometimes I think your savage commentary is entertaining! On account of Ninja side jobs like requiring weapon pack DLCs, I believe that makes them even harder.… For that reason, no side jobs ingame require DLC ownership as long as you can join others who own it.

    • No I mean, you're not allowed to wield explosive throwables. And to make it work, they have a list of "excluded grenades"... ie. non-grenade throwables.

All those new shit counts amongst that, but since they don't add them they'll fail the side-job since they're counted as explosive grenades for it. And this isn't the first time, or the fourth, or the sixth. It's like... ALL of them.

You'd think by now for the "new grenade release" checklist they noted down adding them to this sidejob was a thing, but hey, apparently not. Why would you do that right? Just the little things that annoy me about ovk.

I suppose Overkill should hire folks like us and you to go through these errors and inconveniences. Bo Andersson will shit his pants.

Which throwables are not considered grenades? Let's… Shuriken, javelins, Throwing Axes/knives, the syringe, the Injector, and Stoic Hip Flask. Boi oh boi.

The playtesting is pretty low in popularity at Overkill, perhaps?
