Jack Of All Trades U100

Jack Of All Trades
Technician: Engineer Tier 3
Basic (3 pt): You deploy and interact with all deployables 100% faster.
Ace (6 pt): You can now equip a second deployable to bring with you. If your deployable is equipped as a secondary deployable, you can only bring half of what you would bring if it was equipped as a primary deployable.
Press X to toggle between deployables.

The effects of Jack of All Trades Basic is rather straightforward and practical due to it effectively halving the deployment and use time of all deployables, allowing a player with the skill to heal up faster, change armors quicker, slapping down an ECM in time, and so on. Jack of All Trades Aced grants the ability to equip up to two different types of deployables to use in a single heist, thereby reducing the 4-equipment limitation by allowing a full crew to pack extra utilities.

Jack of All Trades is one of the more popular skill perks to ace for both loud and stealth heists, even if it does have the drawback in potentially carrying half of the 2nd deployable. Nevertheless, it is still beneficial to carry two deployables instead of just one. For example, sentry gun users can carry an extra ammo bag to save themselves the hassle or setting up said weapons near another available ammo bag that cannot be moved.

It is often chosen for stealth heists, as for instance, a Technician with 14 C4 explosives with the sensor mode ability can bring a body bag case as a 2nd deployable, even if the Cleaner skill is not obtained.

  • A Jack of All Trades is an individual who is competent in many different skills but not necessarily a master of any. This fits the aced skill's ability to let you carry a (possibly) reduced version of another deployable.
  • Having Jack of All Trades is currently the only way for a player to carry more than 1 type of deployable.
  • An update later granted a new icon that now displays the two chosen deployables if Jack of All Trades has been aced.

Jack Of All Trades
Technician Tier 4
Basic (4 pt): The radius of trip mine explosions are increased by 70%.
Ace (8 pt): You can now carry sentry guns and trip mines at the same time. When you deplete your trip mines or sentry guns you will switch to the other one.

Players with the basic skill receive a 70% increase in mine explosion radius, a reduced form of the Blast Radius aced skill (which Jack Of All Trades replaced). Acing the skill allows players to swap between trip mines and sentry guns during levels: by equipping either resource and depleting it, the player will automatically swap to the alternate items.

This skill significantly increases the versatility of the Technician class, no longer restricting them to choosing between providing covering fire, or laying traps and setting charges. Players using the skill should choose carefully on each day, and deploy items tactfully to maximize the effectiveness of both.

Since items cannot be swapped at will, players with multiple charges or sentry guns should plan ahead: if, for example, a player urgently needs sentry cover but has leftover C4, all charges must be wasted before the swap can be made. Neither can shaped charges be placed while the sentry gun is still equipped.

  • A Jack of All Trades is an individual who is competent in many different skills but not necessarily a master of any, which seems a bit inappropriate when used in this context as players with this skill are not mildly competent in all trades at once, but rather are particularly specialized in Sentry Gun and Trip Mine operations only.
    • It could, however, mean that the player is now skilled in all trades of the Technician deal.
    • Having this skill also means that one can no longer carry either Trip mines or Sentry Guns, both deployables will be selected upon equipping one and that one will have to be exhausted first before the other can be used (not that it's a detriment anyhow).
  • Jack Of All Trades was added in Update #39. It took on the location of Blast Radius along with some of its characteristics.
  • Due to it enabling players to carry more than 1 type of deployable, the game may brand the player a cheater for "using the wrong deployable" when the Sentry Gun is placed after the mines.
  • Having Jack of All Trades is currently the only way for a player to carry more than 1 type of deployable.
