Description
Originating from the Motherland in the 90's, this piece of Russian engineering is Jimmy's favorite. He loves the weapon so much he brings two to every fight.

The Heather Submachine Gun is a secondary weapon in PAYDAY 2. It was added in the Hardcore Henry cross promotion update along with Jimmy and the Specialist Knives.

An Akimbo version of it is also available as a primary weapon under the Akimbo tab.

OverviewEdit

The Heather Submachine Gun is best compared to the Uzi due to their overall similar stats, with the Heather being superior in many ways except for ammo and Stability, as the Uzi has lower recoil per shot.

The Heather's main features are its high base damage and above-average accuracy. In exchange, however, it has fairly average stability and average ammo capacity of 160 rounds. It is also a fairly expensive investment for newer players and has very few mods available for use, thus limiting its versatility significantly.

As its stats can reach the point of competition with some primaries, it can be a very viable secondary option for Very Hard and Overkill in the hands of players who are good at ammo management, or for saw-using Enforcers who must have a dependable secondary weapon for combat - notable, as the Heather is not as constrained by range in the same way the Locomotive is.

TipsEdit

  • Aim for headshots to maintain ammo efficiency.
  • Due to the high ammo pickup rate, it is recommended that one always try to pickup enemy ammo drops, thus making back most of the ammo that they lose.
  • Acing Fully Loaded will provide the player with a means to remedying the Heather's rapid ammo consumption. Additional Ammo bags may help as well.
  • Make extensive use of the Unfolded Stock mod, as it increases the Heather's Stability by a great margin while not affecting Concealment in any way.

Trivia Edit

  • The Heather was based on the TsNIITochMash SR-2M as evident by its folding foregrip, with "Heather" being the English translation of "Veresk", the nickname of the real weapon.
    • Despite this, the Heather's description on the announcement site mentions the weapon being designed and manufactured in the 90's, which references the basic SR-2.
    • The Heather's stats are simply copy-pasted from the Jacket's Piece, and as such shares its magazine capacity of 32. The real SR-2M magazine can only hold 30.
  • It is the first SMG to support dual-wielding. According to the announcement site's blurb, Jimmy always packs at least two of these when on mission.
