Hardware Expert U100

Hardware Expert
Technician: Breacher Tier 1
Basic (1 pt): You fix drills and saws 25% faster. Drills and saws are also silent. Civilians and guards must see the drill or saw in order to become alerted.
Ace (3 pt): Gives your drills and saws a 10% chance to automatically restart after breaking.

MechanicsEdit

Getting the basic version of this skill is required to get up the Breacher skilltree. It reduces your interaction time with drills or saws required to restart them. It also renders drill completely silent. There is no way to undo this, so if you want to use loud drills to lure enemies, you need to have someone on the team without this skill.

The aced effect increases your chance to auto-restart by 10%. This can stack with a Kickstarter's Basic effect. Only one Hardware Expert upgrade can be applied at a time. This effect is applied upon placing a drill, upgrading a drill without this effect, or repairing a drill without this effect.

BugsEdit

  • Auto-restart doesn't work on saws.

Hardware Expert

Hardware Expert
Technician Tier 2
Basic (1 pt): You fix the drill and saw 25% faster and you also deploy trip mines 20% faster.
Ace (3 pt): Gives drill and saw a 30% chance to autorestart when it breaks down. You also deploy the sentry gun 50% faster.

MechanicsEdit

The skill description may be a little misleading; when the drill is placed or when it is upgraded, there is a 30% chance it will be an autorestarting drill. An autorestarting drill will autorestart within 5-20 seconds of breaking down. If the drill does not become an autorestarting drill when placed or upgraded, it will never autorestart. If it does become an autorestarting drill, it will always restart. There is no middle ground. [1]

StrategyEdit

The trip mine deployment speed boost does not apply to trip mines placed as shaped charges, so the primary use of the basic level of this skill is the faster drill repair. The aced version of the skill can be very useful, as it may save the players from having to run into a dangerous area to restart the drill. It should be taken for drill or sentry focused technicians, especially if no other teammates have it.
