Note: In Update #100, Brother's Keeper was removed from the game.
|Basic (1 pt): The damage thugs deal to you is reduced by 10%.|
|Ace (3 pt): The damage thugs deal to you is reduced by an additional 25%.|
The basic version of this skill confers a 10% damage resistance against all attacks dealt onto the player by mobsters/bikers (not law enforcers). Acing this skill further increases this resistance to 35%.
Brother's Keeper only provides practical usefulness in heists with a high gangster/biker population, such as Rats, Hotline Miami, Firestarter Day 1 and Big Oil Day 1, as it only provide resistance against their attacks only. Acquiring and acing this skill is not advisable because of the rarity of these enemies. Even though they deal high damage, experienced players can easily anticipate thug-type enemies' location and dispatch them. Even in missions with a high thug population, the thugs are quickly replaced by law enforcers in the first assault wave, making this skill of only fleeting usefulness.
- The image could be a reference to several similar events, movies and biblical sentences.
- It could alternatively be a hand gesture with strong sexual connotations.
- Due to the placement of this skill, and the fact the skill provides lowered damage from thugs, the name could quite possibly be a reference to Jules Winnfield's Bible verse from Pulp Fiction. Jules is a hitman, responsible for taking out targets for his boss, who may quite possibly be thugs. The skill directly next to this one in the tree is called "Winston Wolfe", which is also a confirmed Pulp Fiction reference, as it is named after the cleaner of the same name from the movie.
